With reference to your letter No. 62779/29 dated 15th February, 1929, on the subject of magazine accommodation in Hong Kong, I am commanded by the Army Council to say that the Council agree to the suggestion made by the Admiralty that their proposals should be discussed between the Governor, the General Officer Commanding and the Naval Commander-in-Chief at Hong Kong and that instructions to that effect will be despatched to the General Officer Commanding at an early date.

I am to add that it would appear to the Council that the result of these deliberations will require examination as to the bearing of the Washington Treaty on the proposed construction of a new magazine.

I am,

Sir,

Your obedient Servant,

The Under Secretary of State,

Colonial Office,

S.W.1.
